STATEMENT of PURPOSES & RULES


1. The Australian Chain Link Fencing Association was formed in May 2003 to provide a national forum for companies involved in the chain link fencing industry to promote the long term viability of the industry.

2. The aims and objectives of the Association are:-

2.1 To encourage and promote the interests of the chain mesh wire manufacturers, suppliers and installers in developing quality products to recognised Australian Standards wherever possible.
2.2 To position the group as the recognised authority on chain mesh manufacture and installation within Australia.
2.3 To organise national conferences, trade fairs, regional meetings and overseas tours where appropriate.
2.4 To create public awareness of the industry through advertising, trade publications, conventions and exhibitions etc.
2.5 To make representations and submissions in the name of the Association to governments, statutory authorities and other organisations on any matter which may affect the industry.
2.6 To be a medium for members for the collection and dissemination of information and research of statistics for the industry.
2.7 To develop education programs which increase the knowledge and skills of industry employees.
2.8 To create credibility for the Association’s members within the industry and subsequently with other industry groups.
2.9 To provide access for members on technical information, Australian Standards and industry statistics.
2.10 To provide access to information from raw material suppliers, finished product distributors, manufacturers and plant and equipment suppliers.
2.11 To ensure our activities are conducted with sound ethical trading practices.

3. MEMBERSHIP

3.1 Membership of the group shall be open to any person, firm or corporation that is operating in Australia and involved in the chain mesh(link) fencing industry subject to meeting the membership criteria.
3.2 Membership shall be conditional upon acceptance of and compliance with the Purposes and Rules of the Association.
3.3 Members shall be required to adhere to a members “Code of Compliance” which meets sound ethical business practices.

3.3.2 Membership is subject to meeting the agreed purposes of the group as stated in section 2.
3.8.3 Associate membership shall be considered for companies whose prime purpose is for the installation of chain link fencing systems only.
3.8.4 Membership is subject to an Industry Code of Compliance. Such accreditation being designed to ensure that member's products and services are deemed to be recognised as acceptable industry practice.
